JBL unveils Link View – a smart speaker with a high definition screen

JBL has become the latest company to release a voice-activated smart speaker with a built-in display when it launched the Link View to give customers content they can see and hear.

The device has an 8-inch high definition display as well as a 5-megapixel front facing camera and, being a JBL product, it has excellent sound quality.

Link View is designed for customers who consume a large amount of content daily and can be used to view pictures, stream audio and video, ask questions, follow recipes and make video calls with family and friends.

And all of these can be activated just by using your voice.

“When we launched the Link series last year it represented a major milestone for us, as the first voice-activated, multi-room speakers to use the Google Assistant and deliver Grammy award-winning JBL sound,” says Marcus Fry, Brand Activation Director of JBL AUNZ at Harman.

“Research shows voice activated speakers are no mere novelty. Sixty percent of owners now consider them a necessity.

“By continuing to enhance their experience by adding HD display with a touch screen and a front-facing camera, people will find even more ways to make these speakers an important part of their lives, routines and enjoyment.”

The touchscreen is framed by two front firing stereo speakers along with a rear facing passive radiator to deliver JBL Signature Sound.

The product is made from premium materials and has a small footprint so it can be positioned anywhere without taking up too much space.

“Smart Displays like the JBL Link view bring the simplicity of voice together with a rich visual experience, helping you multitask and stay organized while giving you time to focus on the things that matter most,” said Chris Turkstra, Director of Product Management for the Google Assistant.

“With JBL’s long history of building powerful and rich audio experiences, we’re excited to work with them on opening to open up a whole new set of opportunities for the Assistant to be helpful in the home.”

JBL’s new Link View is available now and is priced at $349.95.
