Belkin launches new surge protection products to safeguard electronics and appliances

Belkin has launched a new range of surge protection power boards which can give customers peace of mind knowing their expensive appliances and electronics are protected.

The new line up was engineered in Australia by the local Belkin team to make sure it meets the needs of local customers.

Starting at $34.95, the Belkin Surge Protection products are available in one, four, six and eight outlet options with the surge protection range up to 1800 joules.

They also incorporate fast-charging dual USB-C power delivery ports and MOV (metal oxide varistors), six or 11 point safety systems and all housed in a durable yet elegant white design.

Belkin is so confident of the quality of its surge protection products it even offers a Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW) which goes way a lot further than a regular warranty.

The CEW covers customers in the event of damage by electrical surges or lightning strikes while connected to a Belkin surge protector to a value of up to $70,000.

Each product also comes with a two year warranty along with CEW.

“Surge Protection is one of our most important categories in this region,” said Jamie Laing-Reece, Head of Product Management, Belkin ANZ.

“We know that Australian and New Zealand consumers want their key home technology to be protected, and it’s now more important than ever with the cost of connected devices on the rise.

“Storms can be wild and unpredictable, so it’s vital that consumers can rely on a brand like ours for enhanced protection and peace of mind.”

KEY FEATURES

Know you’re protected at a glance

A built-in indicator light shows you that your protection is active and working, and lets you know if it’s time to change your surge protector. A recessed power switch offers security against accidental shut off.

Hardworking  MOV’s

High-capacity metal oxide varistors (MOVs) absorb damaging excess energy and release it as heat to protect your connected device

2m power cord and built-in wall mounts

The 2m power cord allows for easy placement under a desk or behind appliances. Plus, built-in mounting holes give you the flexibility to hang, mount, or attach your surge protector where you need it.

The 4, 6 and 8 outlet models share the following:

Power Delivery and dynamic PPS technology.

The USB-C ports offer Power Delivery charging to compatible devices, so you’ll charge faster than using standard USB-A ports. Onboard PPS (Programmable Power Supply) technology detects the connected device and negotiates the optimal amount of power needed for an ideal fast charge.

Dual USB-C ports

Two Fast Charging USB-C Power Delivery and PPS ports provide convenient expansion and flexibility for when you’re missing a power brick. You’ll have up to 30W of power shared across the two ports to fast charge smartphones and many other devices.

Protected by an 11-point safety system

Your device is plugged into a protector that offers overvoltage, over-temperature, overload, over-current, short-circuit and clamping voltage defense. It offers 3-line AC protection (ground, neutral, and line) and is made from material that passes a Glow Wire Test at 850℃. An indicator light shows when surge protection is active, and a warning light shows when the power coming through is not grounded.
