DJI has launched its new Osmo Action 6 action camera which unlocks even higher imaging quality and versatility to create a new standard of action photography.
The Osmo Action 6 offers flagship performance that will redefine the possibilities of action photography.
It is the first action camera to offer a variable aperture between f/2.0 to f/4.0 so it performs in all conditions including low light.
Under the hood is DJI’s 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor to improve the image quality to an all new level.
And because the Osmo Action 6 breaks away from the fixed aperture design usually found in action cameras, users can now choose different aperture modes to suit different scenarios.
With the f/2.0 maximum aperture, the Osmo Action 6 allows more light into the sensor and improves image quality in low light scenarios.
In Auto Mode, the camera’s adaptive aperture range opens up the options by automatically adjusting to get stunningly clear results across a variety of scenes.
Users can also get creative and achieve a shallow depth of field with the Osmo Action 6 by using the macro lens accessory sold separately for close-ups of food, pets and flowers.
The macro lens reduces the focus distance from 35cm to just 11cm for crisper shots and selfies.
The new 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor offers up to a 13.5 stops of dynamic range so you’re getting remarkable detail in high contrast.
On the video side, the camera supports 4K/120fps in a 4:3 ratio.
With the larger sensor and larger aperture along with the new noise reduction technology, the Osmo Action 6 offers Super Night Mode for impressive clarity at night with the ability to capture video up to 4K/60fps even in low light.
DJI’s 10-bit D-Log M colour system preserves much more detail for greater flexibility in editing and post production.
Because of its square sensor, the Osmo Action 6 now offers a new 4K custom mode which means users can shoot first and crop in later in post-production to frame the video.
This will allow creators to use the same video across different social media platforms for widescreen and portrait shots.
Being an action camera, the Osmo Action 6 can handle whatever you throw at it whether you take it diving, skiing, mountain biking or hiking.
It has a IP68 waterproof rating and can go to a depth of up to 20m without a case and up to 60m with a waterproof case.
The camera also has a cold resistant design so it can operate efficiently in temperatures as low as -20-degrees Celsius.
And you’re getting even more recording time with four hour battery life that can keep up with your adventures.
And when it’s time to recharge, the battery can be fast charged to 80% in just 22 minutes.
There is 50GB of built in storage so you’ll never miss a moment even if you don’t have a memory card.
For high quality audio, the Osmo Action 6 can connect to two DJI microphone transmitters and ensure your audio is as high quality as the video.
