In the highly competitive home robot market, Roborock – one of the leaders of the category – says it is not looking at the competition but only trying to find ways to serve their users even better.
At the IFA show in Berlin, we took a hands on look at the Roborock stand where it showcased its new RockAqua P1 robot pool cleaner, Saros Series robot vacuums and the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR robot lawn mowers.
When asked about the competition and what the company needs to do to stand out from all the other companies producing similar products, Roborock Product Marketing Lead Clarbi Lu says the company does not obsess about the competition they obsess about their users.
“Basically I would say we really focus on users so the competition itself is not our first priority,” Lu told Tech Guide.
“As long as you focus on users’ needs and users’ problems and you develop your functions and products in that direction and really provide a good user experience, the competition comes second.”
Lu says the company’s mission with its robot products is to give time back to its customers.
“It’s something that fulfils our mission to provide a hands-free and worry-free experience for our users for their daily maintenance, for their cleaning,” he said.
“We do the work so our users can take back their time, give the time back to their loved ones, to their hobbies, to themselves.”
What’s next for Roborock? What’s the one challenge it is trying to overcome to create the next generation of products?
“That is a good question. When we define a new product, if we would like to simply raise the suction power, we just need to increase the power of the motor,” he said.
“That’s simple but at the same time this will bring some problems.
“For example the duration of the battery will be sacrificed and the noise will come up. The difficult point is that we made a balance, we made trade-offs.
“We should find the point of really balancing different aspects and this is something like a puzzle.
“When we want to bring up a new technology, one or two additional problems may come up.
“For our R&D or pre-R&D we might be able to solve one or two additional problems one by one or year by year.
“When the time comes, we are ready to bring up new technologies.”

ROBOROCK ROCKNEO Q2 LIDAR
This is a robot that can easily get around your yard and provide professional-level lawn care on spaces up to 800 square metres.
But one feature Roborock had that was different to its competitors was its charging stand which had both a solar panel to reduce the amount of power required to charge it as well as a built-in Wi-Fi extender.
This will connect to your home’s Wi-Fi and bring a stronger connection to the robot lawnmower. That’s one pain point with robot lawnmower users: their Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the yard where it’s needed.
The new Roborock charging stand solves that problem.
ROBOROCK ROCKAQUA P1
This is the first robot pool cleaner from Roborock. It has 680 GPH suction and can run for up to 3.5 hours.
On board is a monocular camera for obstacle avoidance and dynamic detection and when it’s finished running it parks itself on the water line for easy retrieval.
ROBOROCK SAROS 20 FLOW
On board is the SpiraFlow 2.0 self-cleaning mop that makes light work of messes.
The robot also deploys a cover over the roller to avoid wetting carpets.
They can also navigate double thresholds up to 8.8 cm high to get around your home and complete the clean.
It also has an ultra-slim profile so it can fit under sofas and beds as low as 7.95 cm.
ROBOROCK F25 ULTRA STEAM
The new Roborock wet/dry vacuum uses high-temperature steam and hot water to tackle those tough stubborn dried-on stains.
It can also clean right to the wall and edges with 0mm Triple Edge cleaning.
