Amazon’s Echo devices already offer a shortcut to our music and Alexa but now they can be used to improve the wi-fi in your home. Customers with eero routers will now be able to transform their Echo devices into eero mesh wi-fi extenders. If you have compatible Echo products these can add up to 92 square metres of coverage to the current eero network and support speeds of up to 100Mbps for 10 or fewer connected devices in the 5Ghz band. Optus has launched a standalone 5G network to deliver a faster and more reliable home internet service that’s an alternative to the NBN. The Optus 5G SA (standalone) works independently of the regular Optus 5G network which uses its 4G radio and core network as a stepping stone to 5G and its benefits.
