Motorola has released its first 5G smartphone in Australia – the Motorola Edge – which includes a borderless display, a 64-megapixel camera and 5G performance in 5G coverage areas.
Priced at $999, the Motorola Edge is available now from JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Officeworks (online only), MobileCiti and the Motorola online store.
The device has a narrow 6.7-inch Full HD OLED display with one of the biggest screen edge curves you’ll find on a smartphone.
This gives the display a borderless look in your hands so users can have nothing else to focus on except their content.
There are also new side touch gestures for easier access to settings and menu.
Also on the screen is a small hole punch for the front 25-megapixel selfie camera.
On the audio side, Motorola says it has the loudest and most powerful speakers on a smartphone and audio technology to make music, videos and phone calls sound crisp and clear.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 mobile platform which provides 5G connectivity for faster streaming and downloads in 5G coverage areas.
There is 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable through the microSD card slot.
The 64-megapixel main camera sensor provides impressive resolution for a phone of this price and also has an 8-megapixel telephoto and 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with macro vision.
The Motorola Edge camera has night vision, AI to optimise images and shoot in any environment.
The 4,500mAh battery – one of the largest batteries in its class – give you all-day power as well as fast charging with the 15W TurboPower charger to offers hours of added power in just minutes.
