Lenovo’s new Smart Clock – convenience of a clock with all the benefits of a smart speaker

Lenovo has launched its new Smart Clock with Google Assistant so you get all the convenience of a clock and an alarm system with the many benefits of a smart speaker.

The Lenovo Smart Clock is quite small – it has a 4-inch display – but it’s just the right size to have by your bedside.

It has voice and touch screen control and is a perfect device to have on your bedside table.

There’s even a USB port on the rear of the device so you can charge your smartphone overnight.

Lenovo says it came up with the Smart Clock as a way of reducing disruptive screen time at bedtime and help promote a better night’s sleep.

Users can set up sleep routines like dimming the lights and displaying their first calendar event when you wake up simply by saying “Hey Google, good night”.

Under the hood is a 6W speaker and two passive radiators that can fill a room so you can listen to music, the radio and also wake up to music or your favourite radio station.

The speaker also come in handy of you want to fall asleep with relaxing music, ambient noises or guided sleep meditation.

And because it’s also a smart speaker, users can also play audiobooks and podcasts.

The Lenovo Smart Clock also works with Chromecast so you can stream shows and music to your TV just be asking for it.

And there are many ways to wake up with the Lenovo Smart Clock.

You can opt for a gentler wake-up routine including setting your lights to progressively brighten as well as your alarm or music to gradually increase in volume for 30 minutes before your chosen wake time.

This wake-up method can also trigger a morning routine which can tell you the weather and your reminders, calendar events and also let you know about the traffic on your morning commute.

And don’t forget the Lenovo Smart Clock is also a hub that can control your home’s smart and connected devices like your coffee maker or the heater.

It’s also possible to check the feed from your smart security cameras or check on the baby right from your bedside.

The device can connect to more than 10,000 smart products from 1,000 partner brands.

The Lenovo Smart Clock is priced at $129 and is available for pre-order now and will be in-store from June 6 from lenovo.com.au JB H-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks and The Good Guys.
