Apple has released the new AirPods Pro 3 which offers improved audio quality, better active noise cancellation (ANC), live translation and it now includes heart rate sensors to track your workouts.
It has an updated design for an even more secure and comfortable fit that can handle all your activities and exercise.
The AirPods Pro 3 have a new multi-port acoustic architecture which controls airflow and how it carries sound into your ear.
The result is an improved spatial listening experience, better bass response and an even wider soundstage so you hear every note, every instrument and every vocal with greater clarity.
Apple says AirPods Pro 3 has the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones which is made possible with ultra-low noise microphones, advanced computational audio and new foam-infused ear tips which add greater passive noise isolation.
The ANC is 2X more effective than AirPods Pro 2 and 4x more noise removed than the original AirPods Pro
Another improvement is battery performance with AirPods Pro 3 able to provide up to eight hours of playback even with ANC enabled – that’s a 33 per cent increase over the previous AirPods Pro 2.
Apple utilised more than 10,000 ear scans and more than 100,000 hours of research to offer an improved fit.
The AirPods Pro 3’s new foam infused ear tips now come in five different sizes to ensure everyone can find the right fit.
The AirPods Pro 3 have an IP57 sweat and water resistance which means they can easily handle your workouts and a downpour.
AirPods have always been a popular choice for people when exercising and now AirPods Pro 3 have introduced a customphotoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to read your heart rate.
It does this by shining an invisible infrared light pulse 256 times per second to measure light absorption in blood flow.
The AirPods Pro 3 can also detect when you start up to 50 workouts thanks to the sensor fusion from the AirPods Pro 3’s accelerometers, gyroscope, GPS and a new on-device AI model on iPhone.
Live translation is now possible with the AirPods Pro 3 which enables in- person communication across different languages.
This feature is handled by computational audio and Apple Intelligence and will enable people to speak naturally and understand another language in real time.
To interact with someone not wearing the AirPods Pro 3, there’s an option to use iPhone as a horizontal display so they can see the live transcription of what the user is saying in the other person’s preferred language.
The AirPods Pro 3 will be available on September 19, 2025, and will be priced at $429.
