The new Philips Fidelio B5 Soundbar allows you to enjoy a surround sound home theatre experience without going to the trouble of snaking cables around the room or spending hours setting it up.
The Fidelio B5 includes the soundbar that rests in from of your TV along with a wireless 6.5-inch subwoofer.
At first glance it looks just like most of the other soundbars on the market but if you take a closer look at the Philips products you’ll find the feature that sets it apart.
The ends of the Fidelio B5 are actually detachable speakers which can be paired via Bluetooth and used as rear speakers to turn it into a 4.1 surround sound system.
As you’d expect from the Philips Fidelio family of products, the sound quality is exceptional and adds another dimension to your viewing experience.
Under the hood is a 3-inch full range driver and soft dome tweeters for a dynamic and balanced sounds that comes courtesy of the built-in Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II technology.
The detachable speakers are completely wireless and can be placed anywhere in the room or elsewhere in the home within range of the main soundbar.
The system also has an embedded calibration algorithm so the surround sound is perfectly balanced.
The detachable speakers have a rechargeable battery onboard that will run for five hours in music mode and 10 hours in movie mode.
And the detachable speakers are recharged when they are attached to the main soundbar again.
The Fidelio B5 Soundbar has a stylish aluminium finish with a breathable protective cloth that’s been treated with a special coating to resist dust and accidental liquid spills.
On the connectivity side, users will find HDMI In and HDMI Out Audio Return channel and EasyLink (HDMI-CEC) outputs.
And with NFC (near field communication) users can simply tap their compatible mobile device to pair with the Fidelio B5 so they can stream their music to the soundbar as well.
