Viewers will need to retune their TVs to complete digital TV switchover
People will have to retune their TVs and set-top boxes in the coming weeks as some channels change their frequency to complete the digital TV switchover.
This move will affect most TV viewers in Australia with different areas being completed at different times.
You can find out when you need to retune by entering your address at the website retune.digitalready.gov.au.
The date for greater Sydney will be March 18 so viewers will need to perform an auto-tune on their TVs, set-top boxes and digital recorders on or after that date.
Retuning is necessary to allow your digital products receive the TV channels on their new frequencies.
To retune hit the menu button on your device’s remote control and look for settings and the options for Auto Tune or Digital Tuning.
Frequencies for some TV channels have already been adjusted which may result in viewers not being able to receive certain channels.
These viewers simply need to retune their digital equipment to resolve the issue.
