Our first look at the Hisense 110UX – the 110-inch ULED X MiniLED TV. It’s massive!

The Hisense 110UX is a massive TV. At 110-inches this new Hisense flagship TV offers a viewing experience like no other with impressive audio and video quality.

But the big screen comes with a big price – it’s $24,999.

The 110UX includes Hisense’s proprietary MiniLED X backlight technology which provides an impressive 40,000 dimming zones.

Tech Guide looked at the Hisense 110UX in large hotel suite surrounded by several large windows.

The setting was important because it closely resembles the bright open living spaces that customers investing in this TV would also have.

The Hisense 110UX has up to 10,000 nits of peak brightness which builds up the TV’s credentials as being clear and bright even in a sun-drenched open space.

For our viewing the TV was opposite three walls – all of which large windows.

The Hisense 110UX did a great job handling all that light. Its own brightness won that arm wrestle.

What’s also working in the TV’s favour is the improvement in the glare reduction.

Hisense says the TV reflects 20 per cent less glare and it also manages a 40 per cent wider viewing angle.

What’s also part of the winning formula is the enhanced Quantum Dot Colour which has been paired with Hisense’s Dynamic X – a solution that optimises the picture quality in real time.

These technologies applied to the 110UX results in 25 per cent richer colours when compared to Quantum Dot on its own.

The result is a remarkable picture quality which produces excellent and natural colour, impressive black levels and an overall clarity that was remarkable.

We watched a selection of our favourite movies and were delighted by the colour accuracy, the deep inky black levels and the natural skins tones.

The 110UX doesn’t go over the top and try saturate colours like a cartoon to improve brightness.

Instead the Hisense stays faithful to the content and presents it in the same way the creator intended.

Hisense has delivered a winner here – a great picture that you want to show off in the grandest way possible.

And with the bright environment where we viewed the TV, it’s brightness and picture quality won through.

Now there’s no missing the big picture with the Hisense 110UX – but what you also get is a big sound as well.

Onboard is CineStage X 4.2.2 surround sound thanks to upfiring speakers on top, the speakers on either side of the screen and the subwoofers near the base of the TV.

We put these speakers to the test watching our favourite best-sounding movies like Top Gun Maverick and Star Wars.

The advantage of having a TV this size is that it can physically separate the speakers and allow the viewer to hear each channel distinctly.

When the massive star destroyer rumbles above your head in the opening shot of Star Wars we were able to not only hear the rumble but also hear where it was coming from.

The directional sounds of Top Gun Maverick were also obvious.

The 110UX did well to direct the sound where it needed to go in sync with what we were seeing on the screen.

You don’t need to add a soundbar – it has everything you need built into the massive TV.

On the bass side, the onboard subwoofers did a good job, but we felt that it needed some added punch.

If we bought this TV, the only thing we would add is a pair of subwoofers to really make you feel the sound as much as you can hear it.

Naturally the TV is compatible with Dolby Vision IQ, HDR 10+ Adaptive, HDR 10 and is it also has IMAX Enhanced certified.

If you’re a gamer, imagine playing a screen of this size. Hisense has accommodated for this with Game Mode Pro.

This includes 144Hz refresh rate to reduce lag and screen tearing along with low latency mode.

All you need to do is plug in a console or gaming PC and the Game Bar appears to allow for your own adjustments.

As a gaming platform, the 110UX would take your experience to another level.

The Hisense 110UX is running the excellent VIDAA U8 operative system which makes it super easy to navigate the features and get to your streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, Prime, Paramount+, Stan, Kayo, Binge, Foxtel and many more.

It also has the VIDAA channels – free internet channels that include EuroNews, Bloomberg and a bunch of sports channels.

The Hisense 110UX remote has shortcuts to Stan, YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, VIDAA channels and Disney+ and has positioned all the essential keys and functions within easy reach.

And you don’t need to worry about batteries. The remote is solar powered – you can see the small solar panel at the bottom below the numerical keypad so you can leave it face up when not in use to recharge the internal battery.

There is also a USB-C port is you need to attach a cable to recharge it.

The new Hisense 110UX 110-inch ULED X MiniLED TV is available now from The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Bing Lee. It is priced at $24,999.
