New CommBank app offers contactless payment for iPhone users


commthumbCommonwealth Bank has released its latest mobile banking app for iPhone which now makes it possible for users to make contactless payments.

This is achieved with the help of a PayTag sticker that attaches to the back of the device or cover to allow MasterCard PayPass payments up to $100 with a simple tap of their device.

The new CommBank app is now available to download from the App Store to offer more convenient payment and banking options.

The CommBank PayTag sticker can be ordered and activated from within the CommBank app for $2.99.

Other feature of the new CommBank app includes simple swipe balance checks, BPay QR code payments and the ability to pay a mate using a mobile number, email address or Facebook ID.

“From today, all of CommBank’s mobile customers have the opportunity to embrace the mobile wallet revolution and experience next generation mobile banking and payments enhancements,” said Lisa Frazier, Executive General Manager Digital Channels, Commonwealth Bank

 “Our mobile customers can now leave their wallet at home and use their phone to pay for everyday items from a morning coffee, to groceries; while our mobile banking innovations make checking a balance, or paying a bill or a friend, simpler and faster.

“We are thrilled with how well the new CommBank app has been received by customers, with 300,000 updating to the new app in just a few weeks.”
