HTC fires latest shot in affordable smartphone war with Desire 610
HTC has fired the latest salvo in the affordable smartphone market with the release of the Desire 610 which has a range of features and a low price.
Available through the Telstra network, the HTC Desire 610 has a 4.7-inch screen, quad core processor, an 8-megapixel camera and 4G connectivity.
Telstra customers can buy the HTC Desire 610 outright for $312 or include the device on a $55 Mobile Accelerate Plan with no additional handset payments.
The Desire 610 will also support the new Telstra 700Mhz network that will improve speed and coverage deeper in buildings and in country areas.
“Our Desire range presents unparalleled value for customers who want a best in class 4G smartphone, with no compromise on quality, at an affordable price.” said Ben Hodgson, Country Manager HTC Australia and New Zealand.
“We have worked closely with Telstra again to ensure the HTC Desire 610 supports Telstra’s ultra-fast 700MHz network band which will allow people to stay connected deeper in buildings or on the edge of the network in rural areas.”
The HTC Desire 610 will also include BlinkFeed to see all of your favourite content and social interactions on your homescreen.
The onboard 8-megapixel camera is capable of shooting full high definition video while the front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera can capture 720p video.
Another feature is the front-facing speakers that are powered by HTC’s BoomSound for an immersive audio experience.
The HTC Desire 610 is available now.
