Apple reportedly working on two larger screen iPhones

iphone5s1The latest from the Apple rumour mill is that the company is reportedly working on two larger screen iPhone models including one with a curved screen.

Bloomberg is reporting that two larger iPhone models are planned for release later in 2014.

According to their sources one will have a 4.7-inch screen and the other a 5.5-inch display.

One or both of these models are also said to be incorporating curved glass that dips down at the screen’s edges.

Bloomberg also reported the devices will also have advanced touch sensors which can detect various levels of pressure.

Apple’s latest iPhones with 4-inch screens are being dwarfed by other Android and Windows Phone devices in the market.

Apple has resisted the larger screen citing that they would be too hard to use with one hand.

But, if these latest rumours are any indication, that resistance has eased and production is well underway.

For Apple one of the major things that needs to be taken into consideration, apart from creating the actual hardware, is the ensuring the hundreds of thousands of apps developed for the iPhone will scale to the new screen sizes.
