Uniden’s new 4K dash cams offer greater clarity and voice control

As Australians are preparing to hit the road again this summer, Uniden has released the iGO Cam 90 and 90R 4K smart dash cams which includes a 3.16-inch LCD colour screen so you can capture events on the road with even better clarity.

The new in-car device has an ultrawide viewing angle of 135 degrees with the IGO 90R including a full high-definition rear camera with a 150-degree viewing angle.

The product is held in place with a new magnetic slide bracket which can easily and discreetly position the camera and screen on your windscreen.

This magnetic clip also makes it possible to move the device more easily between cars so it can be used your personal or work vehicles or a holiday rental vehicle.

The Uniden iGO Cam 90 also includes voice control which allows drivers to activate recording features using their voice when they are behind the wheel.

And if you’re a taxi or ride share driver, the iGO Cam 90/90R can also be purchased with an extra camera that can look inside the vehicle.

This allows for the recording and monitoring of passengers to provide an extra layer of safety for drivers, particularly when driving late at night.

Drivers can access and transfer footage to their smartphone from the Uniden iGO Cam app using the devices built-in Wi-Fi.

This means it’s easy to replay and share vision captured on the road without the need to remove a microSD card to retrieve the footage.

The inbuilt GPS can geotag the footage as well as record the direction of travel and the vehicle’s speed.

This information could prove to be vital information to support an insurance claim or police investigation.

The device will also work even when you’re not driving.

If the vehicle is parked on the street or in a car park, the inbuilt sensor can detect any sudden vibration and start recording even when the engine is switched off.

The best example of this is if someone hits your car in a car park or when it’s parked on the street.

This parking mode feature can be enabled with the Uniden Hardwire Kit (sold separately).

The Uniden iGO Cam 90 and 90R displays a large speedometer to minimise driver distraction and provides speed and red-light camera warnings.

And if you forget to turn your headlights on, the device can give you a reminder thanks to its inbuilt sensors which can detect low external lighting conditions.

All the recordings are stored on the microSD card.

The Uniden iGO Cam 90 is priced at $299.95 while the iGO Cam 90R (with the included rear camera) is priced at $349.95.

Uniden iGO Cam 90/90R key features:

  • Ultra 4K (3840 x 2160p) camera resolution (Front Camera)
  • Voice Control
  • FULL HD (1080P) camera resolution (Rear Camera)
