WD releases first portable 2TB hard drive for Mac
Western Digital has just released My Passport Studio – the first portable 2TB hard drive designed and formatted especially for Apple Mac users.
Storage and back up is so important with our computers and even better when we can take it with us.
Having such a slimline and portable drive means it’s easy to use just one device to back up your Mac computers and have all of your content with you.
The 2TB capacity is large enough to store 400,000 photos, 240 hours of video or half a million songs.
The My Passport Studio connect to your Mac either with a USB 2.0 cable or through the high performance FireWire 800 port.
There are actually two FireWire 800 ports which means you can connect one to your computer and use the second port to daisy chain other drives if more storage is needed in the future.
It’s perfect for users who create and manage a lot of digital content like photographers, videographers, graphic designers and other creative professionals.
My Passport Studio has a durable aluminium enclosure so it can handle the wear and tear of day-to-day usage.
And it comes formatted for Mac users so right out of the box so the My Passport Studio is ready to get to work to store and back up all of your content.
The My Passport Studio 2TB drive is available now and is priced at $369.99.
