Microsoft has announced pricing for its highly anticipated Surface tablet which will go on sale on October 26. A limited quantity is available now for pre-order.
Originally unveiled in June, the Microsoft Surface will be available in 32GB and 64GB capacities and will be running the Windows RT operating system.
Surface has a 10.6-inch 16:9 widescreen ClearType high definition display and is just 9.3mm thick.
The 32GB Surface will be priced at $559 or bundled with a black Touch Cover which incorporates an advanced keyboard for $679.
The 64GB version with a black Touch Cover will cost $789.
Touch Covers are available in five colours – black, white, magenta, cyan and red – and are priced at $139 on their own.
For $149 customers can move up to a black Touch Cover which includes moving keys for a more regular typing feel.
Also on board the Microsoft Surface is 2GB RAM, a full size USB 2.0 port and a microSD card slot.
