Apple to announce fifth generation iPad on October 22
Apple will unveil its new fifth generation iPad and second generation iPad Mini at a special media event on October 22, according to AllThingsD.
The invitation-only event will focus on the new iPads and the new OS X operating system Mavericks says AllThingsD who cited people familiar with Apple’s plans as its source.
It is also likely the high end Mac Pro computer, revealed for the first time at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, will also be getting some stage time at the event.
The rumours surrounding the new fifth generation iPad have been fairly consistent and are suggesting a new design.
The look of the fifth generation iPad will reportedly take a leaf out of the iPad Mini’s book with a thinner and lighter design.
The frame on either side of the screen will be much thinner and reducing the overall width of the product significantly.
The speculation is also high around the addition of a Touch ID fingerprint sensor to the latest iPad after the feature was introduced on the recently released iPhone 5S.
