The cases you’ll need for rugged protection of your smartphone or tablet

We’ve taken a look at some cases from Griffin, Lifeproof and UAG and the one thing they have in common is that they can take the knocks.

And with some of them they are even waterproof so they can take a dip as well.

Griffin is a company well known for its accessories and cases and its Survivor series offers military grade protection.

The Survivor Core series is available for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5/5S and the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S6.

The Core cases are made of shatter-resistant polycarbonate and offer drop protection with reinforced crumple zones in each corner.

And even though it is quite thin and sleek, the Survivor Core case can handle a drop from a height of almost two metres.

The back panel is clear rigid polycarbonate so you can still see your smartphone.

For some users rugged protection for their smartphone just isn’t enough. They want to take it into the water.

Rugged protection is what UAG (Urban Armour Gear) is all about with cases for iPhones and Samsung, HTC and LG smartphones along with the iPad, Microsoft’s Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3.

The cases are made from a patented composite material that fuses a hard outer shell with a soft impact resistant core.
