Samsung will next week release two new Galaxy smartphones – the A5 and A3 – which boast wafer thin form factors, sharp Super AMOLED screens and a range of features.
Available from March 5, the A5 and the A3 will be available for outright purchase at $599 and $449 respectively.
The Galaxy A3 will be available from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone while the Galaxy A5 will be available only from Vodafone.
Both devices have been designed to appeal to users looking for both style and functionality and to provide a rich social media experience.
They will be available in two colours – Pearl White and Midnight Black.
SAMSUNG GALAXY A5 – $599
The Samsung Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch high definition Super AMOLED screen and is powered by a quad-core 1.2Ghz processor.
The device is just 6.7mm thick and weighs 123g.
There is 16MB of storage on board with a microSD card slot that will allow users to expand that with a memory card by an additional 64GB.
Running the Android KitKat 4.4 operating system, the A5 has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera that makes it possible to take wider selfies and improve the way you look with Beauty Shot.
SAMSUNG GALAXY A3 – $449
The Samsung Galaxy A3 has a 4.5-inch quad-HD Super AMOLED, the same 1.2Ghz quad-core processor as the A5 and the Android KitKat 4.4 operating system.
It is 6.9mm thick and weighs 110.3g and has a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie cam.
Also under the hood is 16GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot to increase storage by up to an extra 64GB.
Features common to both devices include Find My Mobile, which can track the device if it’s lost or stolen and Ultra-Power Saving mode to extend your battery power when you’re running low.
And both the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 are compatible with the 4G Category 4 standard networks that provide an even faster connection.
