Hisense 2021 TVs will include faster VIDAA U5 operating system and Kayo sport streaming app
Hisense has unveiled its latest VIDAA U5 operating system which will be included aboard the company’s 2021 range of smart TVs making them the fastest TVs Hisense has ever produced.
Also onboard the 2021 Hisense TVs for the first time is the Kayo sport streaming app.
VIDAA U5 is Hisense’s proprietary software platform for its TV range will work 20 per cent faster than the 2020 TV line-up with users able to watch their content within 1.7 seconds of hitting the on button on the remote.
The new VIDAA U5 OS will also include a range of new apps for streaming content including premium sport-streaming app Kayo.
The addition of Kayo is in line with Hisense’s long term support and passion for sport. There will even be a Kayo short cut button on the remote.
Kayo offers new and live sports content as well as classic and historical matches so fans can keep up with every moment in their favourite sports.
“Australians’ use of smart devices has accelerated this year, particularly with connectivity and content becoming a key part of our lives as we spent more time at home with family, enjoying the entertainment and light relief offered by our Smart TVs,” said Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia.
“At Hisense Australia we strive to continually improve and update our smart TV offering to ensure our customers have the best user experience possible.
“2021 is no exception and we are very pleased to be introducing VIDAA U5.
“From advanced voice control functionality to the addition of new apps that will be a gateway to hours of new content, VIDAA U5 aims to make TV viewing easier and more enjoyable than ever.”
The improvements in the system’s interface also includes the design with a more compact and visual layout which exposes more content on the home screen to reduce browsing time and help the user find something they want to watch even faster.
“We anticipate the faster, more responsive OS interface offered by VIDAA U5 will be positively received by content-hungry Aussies, especially considering there will be even more entertainment and sports content to browse on the platform in the new year,” said Chris Mayer Product Specialist and National Retail Training Manager at Hisense Australia.
A new VIDAA SmartRemote Mobile app is also being developed for both iOS and Android users which will allow easy control of the TV with a smartphone instead of the remote.
This means no need to search for the remote – if you have your smartphone you’ve already got the remote in your hands.
Voice control is also front and centre with the new 2021 Hisense TVs.
The built-in far-field technology allows users to make commands to Amazon Alexa hands-free without having to press a button on their remote.
The TV’s integrated microphones can pick up your voice from across the room without having to shout so they can do things like turn the TV on and off, adjust the volume and navigating content without lifting a finger.
“This update means that your TV can be used as your main smart home hub. This means you can use it to turn your smart lights on, check your schedule for the week and ask for the latest news updates with an on-screen response, without needing a separate smart device,” added Mayer.
Coming later this year, Hisense will also be releasing a range of TVs running the Android operating system.
