Award-winning Australian accessory designer Proper has unveiled one of the world’s first third-party Apple Watch accessories – a charging case for the highly anticipated smartwatch.
WatchKeeper will be able to safely store the Apple Watch when it’s not being worn.
There’s also room inside the base of Watchkeeper to house the included MagSafe charging cradle so the Apple Watch can also be charged while it’s being stored.
The case is wrapped in leather and has a microfibre tray for added protection.
Watchkeeper can be placed on a desk or bedside table so it’s always fully charged and ready to wear when you start your day.
“Our goal is to protect Apple Watch whilst providing a simple, elegant way to charge and carry it,” said Alon Tamir, Director of Proper.
“WatchKeeper is a sleek protective carry case and charging dock, with integrated cable management for neat charging, and simple cable storage when on the go.
“Proper has a long history of creating clever products that enhance the experience people have with the devices they love.”
When released Apple Watch cases will have a magnet on board to hold the watch in place but won’t offer charging while they are inside the case.
The only Apple Watch case that will have onboard charging are the plush cases that will house Apple Watch Edition – the 18-Karat yellow and rose gold models that start at $14,000.
Proper’s Watchkeeper Apple Watch case will be available in May in two colours – dark and tan – and will be priced at $59.95.
