Vodafone as outlined its new range of simpler plans which now include the Vodafone Pass which can provide content streaming without the risk of going over your data allowance.
The Vodafone Pass is available across four categories – chat, social, music and video and are priced at between $5 and $15 per month.
The idea of these passes is to provide a safety net for customers so they don’t pay for excess data usage streaming the content they love.
For this flat rate, Vodafone customers have unmetered streaming when they have one of these passes.
But the speed of that streaming is limited to 1.5Mbps which is still fast enough to access social media, use popular chat apps like WhatsApp and Messenger as well as streaming music and standard definition video.
The introduction of Vodafone Pass in Australia comes after successful rollout in other Vodafone markets around the world.
In fact, Australia is the tenth country to introduce Vodafone Pass.
Vodafone Pass, available as an add-on to the Vodafone Red plans, allows customers to tailor their mobile plan to what they enjoy the most for a low flat fee per month.
“The beauty of the Vodafone global network is that our customers in Australia enjoy the benefit of products and services that have been tried and tested in other markets around the world,” Vodafone’s Chief Commercial Officer Ben McIntosh said.
The passes allow unmetered streaming across the following apps at the speed of 1.5Mbps at the following prices:
– Social –Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest – $10
– Music –Amazon Music, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Sound Cloud – $10
– Video –Netflix, Amazon Prime, Stan – $15
– Chat –Facebook Messenger (text), Viber (call and text), WhatsApp (text) – $5
“Right now, you can pay just $45 per month for 30GB of data (over 12 months, min cost $540) and that includes access to $5 roaming and the option to add on a Vodafone Pass for endless streaming,” Mr McIntosh said.
“There’s simply no need to sign your life away on a leasing plan or pay excessive monthly costs for additional data.
“There are savings to be made and we encourage people to review their current plan and look for the best deal – it’s as simple as that.”
Vodafone Red SIM-only plans are available in three price points $35 (5GB), $45 (30GB) and $60 (55GB).
