ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled new and powerful gaming phones – the ROG Phone 9 series – which are now available to pre-order starting at $1,799 in Australia and $2,199 in New Zealand.
The ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro make up the series and is designed to offer a premium gaming experience anywhere on an equally premium device.
Both phones have an AniMe Vision Mini LED Auxiliary display which provide new personalisation options the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro have a suite of ROG developed AI-driven gaming features that are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform alongside the ROG GameCool 9 cooling system to ensure optimum performance at all times.
At the heart of ROG’s phone design philosophy is providing console like game controls which the ROG Phone 9 series provides with its exclusive AirTrigger touch system and wide range of RNG gaming accessories.

On the design side, the ROG Phone 9 has a sleek and futuristic look and is crafted with a crystallised nanotexture to offer a silky feel and make it resistant to fingerprints.
The AniMe Vision auxiliary displays are unique to both models and have 648 programmable mini LEDs that can be arranged in exclusive animations as well as reacting to phone interactions.
There is an advanced suite of ROG-developed AI-driven gaming features including:
– X Sense 3.0 leverages AI image recognition to streamline gaming tasks, such as detecting key events and auto-collecting items. Our latest 3.0 version even auto-upgrades character skills, enabling gamers to unleash their ultimate abilities with ease.
– X Capture 2.0 employs AI image recognition to detect key events and automatically record moments of victory, team fights, and when the user draws character cards in the game.
– AI Grabber 2.0 utilises AI for text recognition, making it incredibly easy to search for tips, and now it even supports a translation feature, ensuring smoother communication.
– AI Noise Cancellation uses machine learning to identify different noise frequencies, making it easy for gamers to eliminate unwanted sounds for clear communication during gameplay.
To be called a gaming phone, the device needs to have certain features and the ROG Phone 9 certainly delivers.
It’s powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and includes the powerful Oryon CPU, the Adreno GPU and the AI-dedicated Hexagon NPU which all combine to offer the highest graphic settings and a smooth lag-free gameplay experience.
Onboard the ROG Phone 9 series is a stunning 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED 185Hz display.
There’s also a powerful audio system which, when used with the ROG’s Phone 9 series cases, deliver immersive front facing sound along with a subwoofer integrated into the AeroActive Cooler X Pro.
The ROG Phone 9 series has a triple camera system which allow users to take stunning images.
Videos are enhanced by the OZO audio technology so users can enjoy wind noise reduction and 3D surround sound for spatial audio.
