Netgear has released an internet security solution for its popular Orbi Wi-Fi mesh systems that can protect all of your connected devices on your home network.
Netgear Armor Cyber Threat Protection is powered by Bitdefender and can shield every product connected to an Orbi system from viruses and malware and the threat of identity theft.
It is customary for users to install antivirus software on their computers or mobile devices but our connectivity goes beyond that especially with our move to smart products like security cameras, smart baby monitors and lighting systems.
The Netgear Armor offers network wide security which means all devices connected to the Orbi Wi-Fi mesh system will be protected including smart home and Internet of Things (IoT) products.
Netgear Armor performs continuous scans to identify and block malware including spyware, ransomware and malicious links at the network level before they reach you and your devices.
Customers can receive immediate notifications via the Orbi app or on your computer if any threats are detected and blocked.
Also included with Netgear Armor is Bitdefender Total Security which also lets you install complete anti-malware protection on your Android, iOS, Windows and Mac devices so you will be protected on the move and on public wi-fi networks.
“With the increasing need of our customers to safeguard their privacy online, it made perfect sense for us to expand the Armor cyberthreat security application to our popular and award-winning whole home Wi-Fi mesh system, Orbi,” said David Henry, senior vice president of Connected Home for Netgear.
“Long regarded as the leading manufacturer of high-performance networking products, Netgear is on the constant search to deliver more valued added services to our customer base.
“We believe that Armor, powered by Bitdefender, will deliver on the need to keep our customer’s networks secure from the ongoing threats of bad actors with criminal intent.”
Netgear Armor is available now for Australian and New Zealand customers on all Orbi Wi-Fi mesh systems with anOrbi RBR50 Router including the RBK50 and the Orbi Voice (RBK50V).
Orbi RBR50 routers received a firmware update to allow for the installation of Netgear Armor which can be trailed for free for 30 days. An annual subscription costs $99.99.
