LG Tone Free wireless earphones come with a UV charging case that can kill germs
LG have unveiled new wireless earbuds with a difference. The LG Tone Free earbuds feature an industry first UVnano case which can kill 99.9 per cent of bacteria and E. coli after 10 minutes of charging.
At a time when hygiene and social distancing is front of mind with the COVID-19 pandemic, the LG Tone Free earphones case has a built-in ultraviolet light that can kill germs.
The earbuds also have medical grade silicone ear gel and are rated IPX4 which makes them splashproof.
“At LG Australia we’re proud to continue delivering a selection of innovative and premium audio products to our customers.” says Tony Brown, Marketing Manager for Home Entertainment at LG Electronics Australia.
“The LG Tone Free earbuds are an exciting new addition to the range.
“Our ongoing partnership with Meridian truly helps users reimagine how sound should be heard – whether that be high-res music, podcasts or movies.”
On the audio side, LG has once again partnered with Meridian Audio to deliver three-dimensional sound courtesy of HSP (headphone spatial processing) technology and DSP (digital signal processing).
Also under the hood are four Meridian EQ presets and two customised EQ sound settings which are adjustable through the companion app.
They also feature echo cancellation and passive noise cancellation thanks to a close in-ear fit that provides a seal to block out ambient sound.
Ambient sound mode allows you to hear what’s going on around you with a single press on the side of the earbuds.
The LG Tone Free earbuds deliver a total of 18 hours of listening time with six hours from the earbuds’ battery while the charging case can provide an extra 12 hours of playback.
On the design side they feature head-centred weight distribution that helps them stay securely in your ears.
The earbuds can sense when they have been removed from your ears and will automatically pause the music.
“LG Tone Free earbuds are special in that they are designed to cater to a variety of consumer preferences and activities: studying or working; cooking at home or connecting to the TV for a private viewing experience,” Brown added.
“In fact, our consumer research shows that 59 per cent of Australians are using earbuds most in the home and 40 per cent during daily tasks.
“The earbuds can either immerse users deep into the audio or give them flexibility to hear surrounding sounds to assist with multi-tasking,” Brown added.
“Ultimately these multi-purpose earbuds provide convenience and a high-quality audio experience, anywhere.”
The LG Tone Free wireless earbuds will be available in September. They will be priced at $279.
