Apple court victory may force a change in all Samsung devices

The never-ending patent lawsuits against Apple and Samsung continue. The latest battle has seen a victory to Apple that could result in Samsung significantly changing their mobile devices to abide by this new ruling.

The features in question include the slide to unlock functionality – and was part of a decision previously won by Apple.

Samsung then had to pay monetary damages to Apple without changing their products.

But Apple decided to pursue the matter further with the hope of an outright victory.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 – can you tell the difference?

Well, that victory has come with the US Appeals Court stating the “right to exclude competitors from using one’s property rights is important”.

This could mean Samsung would be forced to exclude its similar slide to unlock functionality in future devices along with other disputed patents like autocorrect and quicklinks.

The legal battles between Apple and Samsung have been raging in court for years.

Both companies have plenty of money in the coffers to prolong these court skirmishes for years.

And, not surprisingly, Samsung has appealed this latest decision.
