macebaythumbA rare slice of Apple history – the world’s oldest know complete Mac – has been listed on eBay. The bidding starts at $US99,995.

The prototype Macintosh 128K computer, which includes a 5.25-inch Twiggy disk drive, has been listed by eBay member Wozniac.

But Wosniac was quick to explain that he was not Steve Wozniak – who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs – but rather an Apple fanboy who lives in Canada.

This 128K Mac is rare because it has the larger Twiggy 5.25-inch disk drive.

The Mac listing on eBay

The Mac which was eventually released on January 24, 1984 had a smaller 3.5-inch disk drive because of the Twiggy’s high error rates.

The listing says this machine is the oldest complete Mac in existence.

The computer, the casing and the keyboard are all original from 1982-83.

At the time of publishing there had been no bids on the item.

If you want to own a rare piece of Apple history bidding starts at $US99,995 and that doesn’t include shipping which has been listed as $US1500.

The eventual owner will not only have to have a huge love of Apple but also an equally large bank account.
