Amazon has released the Kindle Colorsoft – its first ever colour e-reader so you can view covers, book photos, images in colour and add colour highlights.
Kindle ColorSoft has a 7-inch Colorsoft high contrast display that still offers the paper-like look and feel but now with full colour to bring book covers and other content to life.
More than 129 billion pages have been read on Kindles so far this year with Australians making a healthy contribution to that total.
The Kindle ColorSoft has a custom screen coating to enrich the colour as well as a light guide with micro deflectors to reduce glare.
Users can adjust the display from white to amber so they can read in any light conditions and in the dark.
“We’re delighted to bring Kindle Colorsoft to our customers in Australia,” said Jacqui Corbett, Amazon Devices Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand.
“This is a significant milestone for Kindle locally, offering readers the perfect blend of our beloved e-reader experience with high-contrast colour capabilities.
“Whether you’re enjoying travel guides, children’s books, graphic novels, or cookbooks, or simply want to personalise your reading with colourful highlights, Kindle Colorsoft delivers this, giving an enhanced reading experience anywhere, anytime.”
With the Kindle ColorSoft, it’s now possible to explore and enjoy the Kindle Library in colour, view photos and highlight favourite packages in a variety of colours.
The Kindle ColorSoft Can run for up to 8 weeks on a single charge through the USB C port.
The device is also waterproof which means it’s ideal for reading at the beach, by the pool or in the bath, worry free.
In Australia, the most popular genre on Kindle Books is romance.
Other stats revealed Sunday is the preferred day to dive into a book while January is the peak reading months with Australians devouring 1.7 billion pages on their Kindle Devices in that month alone.
