The Sennheiser 450BT headphones offers not only impressive audio but great features and excellent value. If you want a pair of ANC headphones that sound great and won’t break the bank – the Sennheiser 450BT should be on your list.

There are plenty of wireless noise cancelling headphones on the market but it’s a challenge finding one that offers the features you want at a more affordable price. Not many fit that criteria but the Sennheiser’s 450BT is definitely one of them.

First up you’re getting a great brand – Sennheiser has been in the audio game for 75 years so they have a long and distinguished heritage that has been poured into his product.

Second, the closed back design is simple and sleek and also quite compact when you want to fold them down and pack them away which makes them easy to take anywhere.

They are available in black and white.

They are comfort to wear thanks to the adjustable padded headband and luxuriously soft ear cups which completely cover your ears and add to the level of noise cancellation.

The headphones look minimal from the outside – the outside of the ear cups are smooth and uncluttered. And they are also lightweight at just 238g.

There are no touch controls in the earcups – instead all the controls are located on the bottom of the right ear cup – and there are a few of them.

From front to back you have the power button which is also used for pairing when you press and hold the button down.

This is also the button used to turn Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) on and off so you can hear your surroundings.

Next to this is the 3.5mm headphone jack if you want to connect a cable to your device and next to this is the USB-C charging port.

There’s also a dedicated volume rocker key which can be adjusted on the ear cup instead of having to reach for your device.

Next to this is the playback control switch that allows you to play and pause your music and move backwards and forward on the playlist.

This same button can also be used to answer, hold and reject calls.

And lastly, there’s the voice assistant button that allow you to access Siri or Google Assistant.

Noise cancellation is either on or off so there’s are no degrees of ANC like you’d find on more expensive models.

But this worked well for us – the noise cancellation was impressive – not the best we’ve experienced – but at a level that noticeably reduced the outside world so we could hear our music.

The earphones connect wirelessly to your device via Bluetooth 5.0 which has support for high quality audio formats like AAC as well as aptX Low Latency so you use them when watching video so the picture and the audio match what you’re watching.

On the audio side, the quality is remarkable with a nice warmth and realism. The high and mid-levels were also good enough to offer respectable clarity overall.

For headphones at this price, they certainly sound well above average.

The bass was also just right but it might not satisfy the user who is after a more street and  heavier bass sound.

You can also adjust the sound to suit your taste with the handy Sennheiser Smart Control app so you can tweak the treble and bass.

The app also lets you see battery levels and makes it possible to update the headphones firmware.

Another excellent feature is the battery life which Sennheiser quotes at 30 hours which is long enough to last for a flight from Sydney to London (those were the days!).

So as long as you remember to charge the Sennheiser 450BT you won’t be left posted without your music.

The Sennheiser 450BT wireless noise cancelling headphones are available now and are priced at $299.95.
