Samsung introduces a new style and approach to TV with Serif
Samsung has expanded its television offering in a new direction with the introduction of the Serif TV which offers a whole new style and functionality for Australian homes.
The Samsung Serif TV was developed in partnership with two of the world’s most respected industrial designers – the Paris-based Bouroullec brothers Ronan and Erwan.
From side on, the TV has an iconic “I” shape and a more harmonious design so it can integrate into your home’s decor and your personal style.
And because it can also rest on its own stand, the Samsung Serif TV can be placed anywhere in your home.
“Serif TV is a completely new way for Australians to think about how televisions can play a role in the décor of the home as it combines brilliance in industrial design, the latest in Samsung QLED panel technology, and a format that delivers a harmonious integration with its surrounds,” said Hass Mahdi, Director for Audio Visual, Samsung Electronics Australia.
“The Serif extends Samsung’s evolving lifestyle TV range and builds on the success of The Frame, as well as our wider QLED 4K and 8K TV ranges.”
The Samsung Serif TV is available in two sizes – 43-inch and 55-inch – in a white finish.
The television incorporates Samsung’s 4K QLED TV technology with impressive colour and brightness and also supports HDR10+ video formats so you see even more detail in the lighter and darker areas of the screen.
The Serif TV also incorporates Near Field Communication (NFC) which allows users to more easily play music from their compatible smartphone.
If they have a compatible Android device they simply place it on the right side of the TVs top panel to connect.
Then users can stream their favourite music through the Serif’s powerful 40W 4ch speakers.
The TV also offers Bixby, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Airplay 2.
Users can also control their Smart Things-enabled devices from the screen as well which can act as a dashboard to manage other smart appliances and security functions in your home
The Serif TV also has an update for Samsung’s Ambient Mode function which transforms the panel when the TV is switched off from normal viewing mode.
Ambient Mode on the Serif will include two exclusive designs from the Bouroullec brothers – fabric and leaf – which are available in five colours.
Customers can also analyse the colour and pattern of the TV surroundings and display complementary images and scenes so it blends into the background.
The Samsung Serif is available now from the Samsung website and select Harvey Norman and Good Guys stores for the following prices: $2,399 (55-inch) and $1,599 (43- inch).
