New Chromecast with Google TV released – and it’s cheaper
Google has released a new Chromecast with Google TV – a more affordable version of the popular product they can turn your regular TV into a smart TV and place all the streaming apps at your fingertips.
This latest Chromecast with Google TV is high definition only and is priced at $59.
Tt has all the same features you’d come to expect from the Chromecast with Google TV including a dedicated dashboard to access apps and streaming services.
The product also comes with its own remote control that provides easy navigation of the system to access your content whether it’s the latest show or movie Netflix, YouTube, Google Play movies or Google Play Music.
The $99 Chromecast with Google TV offers 4K resolution and is still available to purchase.
The original Chromecast was launched back in 2013 and allowed users to cast content from their phone, tablet or laptop to their TV as well as playing and pausing the content and controlling the volume.
Since then there have been numerous improvements as well as additional content that can be accessed through the platform.
The introduction of the Chromecast also coincided with the launch of subscription video on demand services like Netflix and Stan.
The Chromecast allowed customers with older televisions to be able to access all of these latest streaming apps and content.
The new Chromecast with Google TV includes a small dongle that connects to your televisions HDMI port and sits neatly behind your TV.
Users can link the dongle to their home network via the Google Home app and control everything with the included remote control from the dedicated dashboard.
Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is priced at $59 and available now from the Google Store, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks and The Good Guys and coming soon to other retailers.
