LG is expanding its range of popular OLED TVs which will be showcased for the first time at the IFA tech trade show which kicks off this week in Berlin with a range of resolutions, designs and screen sizes.
The new models will include flat 65-inch and 55-inch 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) OLED TVs (models 65/55EF9500 and 55EG9200) along with a curved 55-inch full HD OLED (model 55EG9100).
The 55-inch models will be just 4.8mm at its thinnest point – that’s thinner than your smartphone.
LG expanded 2015 OLED line-up will include nine new models.
LG’s OLED offers a superior viewing experience thanks to its stunning blacks and vivid colours.
And now with HDR, it is going to look even better with OLED able to render the HDR light range at a lower peak brightness.
The new LG 4K HDR OLEDS will allow viewers to enjoy HDR content whether they are streaming from an on-demand service of watching an external source.
On the design side, the incredibly thin panels allows LG to offer new styles in both curved and flat screen that rest on transparent stands.
All of the new LG OLED T Vs will also feature its latest webOS 2.0 software and Harman Kardon speakers.
“Anyone who sees our newest TVs at this year’s IFA will walk away without a shred of doubt that HDR and OLED complement each other very well,” said Lee In-kyu, senior vice president and head of the TV and monitor division at the LG Home Entertainment Company.
“Our expanded 4K OLED TV lineup will demonstrate to consumers that OLED is here to stay and that LG is committed to leading the next generation TV market.”
Pricing for the Australian market will be determined later this year.
