Laser expands GTEK HDMI 2.1 cable range to 3m and 5m to support the latest products

Laser has expanded its range of GTEK Ultra-Certified HDMI 2.1 cables to include 3m and 5m options – the first time HDMI 2.1 cables are being offered in Australia at these lengths.

In a world where gaming consoles, TVs, projectors and other home entertainment equipment are improving in quality and performance, there is a need for not only additional lengths but also the capacity which can supply up to 8K resolution, 120Hz compatibility, 48-bit colour, enhanced ARC (eARC), High Dynamic Range and 48Gbps transfer rate – that’s triple the bandwidth of a non-HDMI 2.1 cable.

That means it can support 4K at 120Hz and 8K at 60Hz along with gaming features like ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) plus QFT (Quick Frame Transport) and QMS (Quick Media Streaming).

Some of the latest devices including the Sony PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, the Foxtel iQ5 and the latest 4K and 8K TVs will perform at a higher level with HDMI 2.1 cables.

Laser was already one of the first companies in Australia to have its cables certified against a stringent criteria of requirements and these new cable lengths will make them even more useful for customers.

The new 3m GTEK HDMI 2.1 cables are ideal for mounted TVs and home theatre systems with soundbars.

Moving up to the 5m cable will now make it possible to connect home theatre projectors to AV sources that may be located metres away.

“We know that consumers and the industry alike have been waiting for the ability to deliver HDMI 2.1 Ultra Certified cables in longer lengths, given the sheer practicality of home installations and distance between technology such as their Television and Gaming console,” said Chris Lau, Laser managing director.

“It is a frustration we have heard many times over so we are delighted to be the first in Australia to offer HDMI 2.1 at lengths that will solve a real headache for consumers and ensure more people than ever will realise the true potential of their technology through very affordable cables that come with a lifetime performance warranty.”

These longer GTEK HDMI 2.1 cables are priced at less than $100.

The GTEK HDMI 2.1 3m cable is priced at $79 while the 5m cable is $99.

Both are available exclusively from JB Hi-Fi.

The 1.8m GTEK HDMI 2.1 cable is already available and is priced at $59.
