Amazon releases new Fire Stick devices and Alexa Voice Remote to make streaming easier


Amazon is changing the way you access and view your home entertainment with the introduction of three new Fire TV devices in Australia – the Fire Stick 4K, the Fire Stick TV and the new Alexa Voice Remote.

The products are available to pre-order now and on and JB Hi-Fi and they will be available from April 21.

These new devices bring popular streaming apps to your TV including Netflix, Prime Video, Stan, YouTube, Disney+, ABC iView, tenplay much more.

The Alexa Fire Stick devices also allows users to check the weather, access their calendar as well as control their lights, smart plugs and other smart home devices.


The Fire Stick 4K offers Ultra HD entertainment for customers who own a 4K TV so you can watch streaming services like Prime Video, Netflix, Stan and Disney+ in glorious 4K with support for Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos audio.

Also included with the Fire Stick 4K is the Alexa Voice Remote so you can easily navigate, find and control your content.

There are built-in discovery features and better browsing capabilities for up to six users in the same household who can create their own unique profiles.


The new Fire Stick offers full high definition resolution and a built in 1.7Ghz processor to enable full HD streaming at up to 60 frames per second with HDR compatibility.

It has a dual band wi-fi antenna that supports 5Ghz networks for even more stable viewing and streaming.

Fire Stick also offers Dolby Atmos compatibility for immersive sound and it also comes with the Alexa Voice Remote.


For those who own earlier editions of the Fire Stick like the Fire Stick Lite and Fire Stick Basic Edition, they are able purchase the Alexa Voice Remote separately.

The Alexa Voice Remote includes a power button, volume controls and a mute button as well as the ability to use your voice to find and control your content.

There are also short cut buttons for Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Music.

Pre-orders for the devices have opened at and at JB Hi-Fi and they will officially go on sale on April 21.
