SmartThings platform now available Australia-wide through Samsung and RACV


Samsung and RACV have announced the nationwide availability of the SmartThings starter kit which can wirelessly connected range of compatible devices and create a smart home.

With the new SmartThings Starter Kit, users will be able to link products like home appliances, smart TVs, audio systems, smartphones and tablets along with an ever expanding list of other compatible devices.

The national rollout of SmartThings by Samsung and RACV comes after the platform was first made available to Victorian customers in December 2018.

Now customers across the country can take their first steps to creating a smart home with SmartThings.

The kit will allow users to combine the SmartThings mobile app with the included wi-fi hub to connect and manage devices around their home along with compatible voice-assisted services.

The SmartThings hub can link with compatible smart third-party products like cameras, lights, locks and speakers which can all be managed through the SmartThings app.

The RACV SmartThings Home Starter Kit will include a wi-fi hub, two multipurpose sensors and three motion sensors.

These devices will form the starting point to allow users to monitor, control and automate a wide range of connected products and create a wide-range of scenarios.

Customers in the Melbourne metro area (postcodes 3000-3210) can purchase the SmartThings Home Starter Kit and have it installed by an RACV expert for $378.
