Modern technology gives us many things.

Netgear releases the Nighthawk X4S – it fastest modem router ever

Netgear has released its highest performing product ever – the Nighthawk X4S AC2600 VDSL/ADSL modem router (D7800) which is the world’s first to support the latest Wave 2 Wi-Fi technology with Quad-Stream on both bands.

Also onboard is a dual-core 1.4Ghz processor and Multi-User MIMO-capability so that families and businesses can enjoy even faster wi-fi speeds even wider range and improved streaming capabilities to enjoy movies and gaming.

The built-DSL modem supports current ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ connections as well as the speedy VDSL and VSDL2 which is being utilised in the NBN rollout.

There’s also a WAN port that’s compatible with any internet service so it offers customers the possibility to upgrade to future fibre or cable options.

The Netgear X4S also offers the fastest wi-fi connectivity with the latest 802.11ac compatible devices but it is also backwards compatible with older devices with 802.11a/b/g/n connections.

Users can enjoy speeds of up to 2.54Gbps – AC2600 wi-fi can deliver up to 800Mbps on one band and up to 1733Mbps on the other along with Gigabit Ethernet speed for devices connected to the modem router with a network cable.

But it’s the latest Wave 2 Wi-Fi technology that will make the biggest difference in the home with the X4S able to support four data streams in each wi-fi band.

The result is faster gaming and smoother HD movie streaming with no buffering.

The four onboard external antennas and high-powered amplifiers along with Beamforming+ capability can also extend the reach of the X4S into the deepest corners of your home or office and eliminate dead spots.

Another technology MU-MIMO (Multiple User-Multiple In – Multiple Out) is designed to handle simultaneous streaming from multiple devices in one location including smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, gaming consoles, smart TVs and Blu-ray Disc players.

This means that instead of sending data to one device at a time like a regular modem, the X4S can deliver data in parallel to several devices at once.

“If multiple people in your household are streaming HD Internet content at the same time, it’s very likely that the DSL modem router you get in your subscriber service package is not capable of supporting your bandwidth needs,” said David Henry, vice president of product marketing and engineering, NETGEAR Home Networking.

“With the Nighthawk X4S AC2600 WiFi VDSL/ADSL Modem Router, you’ll take advantage of the fastest processor in a DSL modem router combined with the latest innovations in wireless technology for the best experience you can get today for streaming, gaming and file sharing.”

Nighthawk X4S also has four Gigabit Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network) ports to connect wired devices like a smart TV or gaming console while two USB 3.0 ports and an eSATA port can be used to share a printer or hard drive on the network.

The Nighthawk X4S AC2600 Wi-Fi VDSL/ADSL modem router (D7800) is available now and is priced at $549.
