Telstra’s new service can deliver an Apple or Samsung smartphone to you in two hours

Fast home delivery is what we’ve been used to during the pandemic and now you can get that with your latest phone thanks to a new service launched by Telstra which can have your new phone at your front door within two hours.

The service, which launches today, is offered in partnership with Zoom2U and will provide Telstra customers a free two-hour delivery of Apple and Samsung handsets to homes in selected areas of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“During COVID, our Call & Collect options have taken off,” Michael Ackland, Consumer & Small Business Executive said.

“Customers are looking for more ways to shop; more offers and more immediacy and that is why we have introduced Telstra Day, and now we are introducing superfast delivery to give our customers more of what they want.”

This new Telstra service will also include the upcoming iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro which goes on sale on Friday.

To be eligible for the service you need to be an existing Telstra customer with an active post-paid service for at least six months.

You also need to be living within the delivery zones of one of 25 participating stores. Full list below.

When placing your order, you need to call your participating Telstra store and order your Apple or Samsung smartphone with a plan.

It’s also possible to bundle selected accessories with your delivery but your order must be placed at least two hours before closing time.

At present, the two-hour delivery is only available for telephone orders at participating stores but will also be soon available on select online and call centre purchases.

After you’ve placed your order, it will be possible to track it in real time.

As soon as the driver has collected the order you can see real-time tracking via SMS so you can watch it as it makes its way to your door.

For added protection, the driver will only deliver to the account owner who placed the order and only to the billing address on the account.

Customers will be asked to use their four-digit PIN code to confirm their identity.

So, make sure you’re home to receive the delivery with your photo ID. If not, your order will be returned to the store for collection.
