The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has been recognised as having the best smartphone display by world-leading evaluation laboratory DXOMARK.
DXOMARK awarded the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra a score of 160 which gave it the number one rank ahead of Google Pixel 9 XL on 158 and the Samsung Galaxy S25+ and S25 – both on 157.

In comparison Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max display scored 150.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 6.9-inch AMOLED 2X display was examined in four categories – readability, touch, colour and video.
According to DXOMARK, readability looks at the ease and comfort of viewing still content like photos or web pages on the screen under different lighting conditions.
The display’s anti reflective coating and 2600 nits peak brightness enhanced visibility inside and out and even in direct sunlight.
In terms of colour accuracy, the S25 Ultra showed notable improvements compared to its predecessor the S24 Ultra.

Colour rendering was found to be highly accurate even when viewed at an angle.
The excellent brightness adaptation, particularly in low light, was found to be a strength – an area where previous models have struggled.
DXOMARK also examined video playback which it said remained smooth with no frame dropouts.
This test evaluates the Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR10) video performance in indoor and low light conditions.
The touch experience was also found to be smooth and responsive when browsing the web or navigating the image gallery.
But DXOMARK did note occasional unintentional touches were observed putting this one result below that of its competitors in the premium segment.
