Oppo has announced the launch of a new foldable smartphone – the Find N6 – which has an inner display that opens virtually flat thanks to its world first Zero-Feel Crease.
The flagship foldable device will go on sale in Australia on April 16 for $3,299.
“Foldables have always promised a bigger, more immersive smartphone experience, but the crease has been one of the biggest barriers to that promise being fully realised,” said Michael Tran, Managing Director of Oppo Australia.
“With Find N6, Oppo has solved one of the category’s most talked-about challenges with the world’s first Zero-Feel Crease.
“We’re excited to bring the Find N Series back to Australia with our most advanced foldable yet.”
The Oppo Find N6 achieves the Zero Feel Crease with a 3D liquid printed metal hinge that is scanned with laser to detect microscopic surface irregularities before applying custom microscopic photopolymer droplets to fill these regions with surgical precision.
It does this more than 20 times until the hinge height variance to just 0.05mm.
The Find N6 also features Auto Smoothing Flex Glass that works with the hinge to act as a structural spring to smooth out any deformation.
The device has been certified to stay flat even after 600,000 folds.
The Oppo Find N6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile platform and has a front 6.62-inch front display and an 8.12-inch inner display.
On the camera side, the Find N6 has a 200MP Hasselblad Ultra-Clear main camera along with a 50MP ultra-wide camera which captures 50 per cent more light and 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera.
Each of these three rear cameras can capture 4K 60fps Dolby Vision video while the 200MP sensor can record 4K 120fps Dolby Vision.
Oppo has also released the Oppo AI Pen – a stylus that write, select and transform onscreen objects and double as a laser pointer.
Oppo has a 6,000mAh battery that can be charged with 80W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
The new Oppo Find N6 foldable smartphone will be available in two colourways – Stellar Titanium and Blossom Orange.
It will go on sale on April 12 for $3,299 – pre-orders will kick off on April 2. The Oppo AI Pen will be available separately for $199.
