Australian Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri has partnered with Google Pixel for a fun national campaign explaining why he made the switched to the popular device.
The campaign will feature Piastri in a number of scenarios using Gemini AI to help him with his tasks and to answer his questions.
“Switching to Google Pixel was an easy decision,” said Oscar, in his typical deadpan and brief manner.
“Am I a Formula 1 racing driver? Yep. Am I a professional actor with a full emotional range? Nope. But I’m excited on the inside to be on the winning team with Google Pixel.”
The videos show Piastri asking Gemini for help to draft a victory speech that sounds like he wrote it, editing photos and a playful question about the Australian Open.
The videos were directed by Isaac Lock and will be launched to coincide with the upcoming Australian Open tennis tournament.
“Oscar embodies the “never settle” mindset that drives Google Pixel – he is relentlessly chasing the best, just like we are,” said Suzana Ristevski, Google Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer.
“We’re thrilled to bring such iconic homegrown talent to the brand.
This is a uniquely Australian campaign – it’s full of delight and showcases the very best of Google Pixel in a way that we know will really resonate with local fans.”
The Google Pixel campaign with Oscar Piastri will run alongside the Australian Open as well as on social platforms for the duration of the tournament.
