You can now catch a Sydney Ferry virtually from anywhere in the world thanks to Google’s new Street View feature that was developed in partnership with Transport for NSW and Transdev.
Since it was introduced in 2007, Google’s Street View has allowed people to explore many places in Australia including the Ningaloo Reef, Kakadu National Park and inside the Sydney Opera House.
Now you’ll be able to board a Sydney Ferry docked at Circular Quay and enjoy the Street View experience as it makes its way to Manly and Taronga Zoo.
Google had to combine nautical and engineering expertise to come up with this collection which had to manage things like weather conditions, sea motion and finding the right spots to install the cameras,
It includes a virtual tour of Sydney Ferries docked Circular Quay as they make their way across Sydney Harbour.
You can walk virtually inside the ferry and enjoy various vantage points on the trip across the harbour where you can enjoy spectacular 360-degree views.
So whether you’re planning your commute on the famous Sydney Ferries or just want to admire the scenery, this latest Google Street View experience can now be enjoyed on both desktop and mobile.
