Google reveals most visited spots on Google Maps to celebrates its 20th birthday

Google Maps is celebrating its 20^th birthday – it was developed right here in Australia – and has gone on to be used by billions of people to find their way.

To commemorate this milestone, Google has revealed Australia’s most reviewed locations on Google Maps which includes iconic landmarks, museums, restaurants and other interesting locations.

Most-Reviewed Restaurant: 
Dosa Hut Indian Restaurant, Harris Park, NSW (14.4K reviews, 4.61 average rating)

We love Indian cuisine according to Google Maps with Indian restaurants prominent in the top 10 most reviewed eateries on Google Maps in Australia.

And Dosa Hut in Harris Park is leading the way. It is a popular foodie destination.

Sydney’s Opera Bar, thanks to its magnificent harbour views, has also earned a place as a must visit dining destination and is the fifth most reviewed restaurant in Australia.

Most-Reviewed Café: 
Andonis Cafe & Bar, Yeerongpilly, QLD (8.2K reviews, 4.68 average rating)

Australians love a cafe and Brisbane’s Adonis Cafe and Bar Was the most reviewed cafe in Australia on Google Maps thanks to its great coffee and culinary creativity.

Also high in the ranks was The Grounds of the City in Sydney which offers an attractive setting to enjoy coffee and breakfast.

Most-Reviewed Visitor attraction: 
Darling Harbour, Sydney, NSW (58.3K reviews, 4.64 average rating)

Sydney’s harborside precinct Darling Harbour has captured the hearts of thousands of visitors – both tourists and locals.

Over in WA, Elizabeth Quay in Perth and the beautiful Busselton Jetty in Geographe Bay also attracted thousands of reviews on Google Maps.

Most-Reviewed Park: 

Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Perth, WA (26.1K reviews, 4.79 average rating)

More than 26,000 people left a review of Perth stunning Kings Park and Botanic Garden making it Australia’s most reviewed park.

Currumbin Wildlife sanctuary and Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park also made the top five.

Most-Reviewed Museum: 

Melbourne Museum, Carlton, VIC (16.7K reviews, 4.63 average rating)

Australians love visiting museums so we can see everything from natural wonders and artefacts to historical treasures and art. Melbourne museum lead the way as the most reviewed museum while Tasmania’s Mona also made the top five.

Most-Reviewed Fish and Chips Shop: 
Charis Seafoods, Labrador, QLD (5.1K reviews, 4.05 average rating)

Australians love fish and chips and can’t resist grabbing that meal by the beach especially at the picturesque Charis Seafoods in QLD which offers great food and a great location.

Most-Reviewed Ice Cream Shop: 
Cow & The Moon, Enmore, NSW (3.4K reviews, 4.6 average rating)

As a nation Australians love ice cream and are willing to line up for it at busy times.

Topping the list of most reviewed ice cream shops is Enmore’s iconic Cow and the Moon. Messina also gets a mention with the South Brisbane store picking up second spot on the list.
