Ring has released the second generation of its original video doorbell which has improved video and motion detection while maintaining its original price.
The new Ring Video Doorbell has 1080p video with night vision and better image quality to be able to see who’s at your door even more clearly.
There are also improved motion zones which are adjustable so you can choose the zones you want to hear from.
There are also new Privacy Zones which allows you to control what you want to see and exclude other zones.
From the Ring app you can rule some areas of the camera’s field of view off limits which means the Ring Video Doorbell won’t record anything in those areas.
The Ring Video Doorbell also operates in different modes which can be set by the user – home, away and disarmed.
“We think customers should expect more from their Video Doorbell – better hardware, improved motion detection, and easy installation – but shouldn’t have to pay a premium for it,” said Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring.
The Ring Video Doorbell also works with Alexa so you can enjoy hands-free monitoring through Echo Show smart displays.
The Ring Video Doorbell second will be priced at $149 and is available now for pre-order on Amazon.com.au and will be available for purchase on June 3, 2020 on Ring.com and Amazon.com.au in Australia.
It will also be available soon after at retailers including Bunnings, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Bing Lee.
