Arlo has released a PoE (power over Ethernet) Adapter for its security cameras to receive wired internet connectivity and power at the same time through a single cable.
Priced at $59, the Arlo PoE Adapter is compatible with these Arlo products: Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera (2nd Generation), Arlo Essential XL Outdoor Camera (2nd Generation) and Arlo Essential Indoor Camera (2nd Generation) and will keep them powered and hard wired to the internet.
The Arlo PoE Adapter connects to the camera with a USB-C cable while the other end of the adapter has an Ethernet port to connect an Ethernet cable to PoE a switch or injector.
Once connected the Arlo camera will be powered and have a wired connection to the internet.
Naturally the Arlo cameras works perfectly connected wirelessly to your network and are powered by batteries that last for months.
But this new PoE Adapter gives customers another choice for connection if they have a nearby Ethernet switch or prefer a wired connection that will now also supply power.
The Arlo PoE adapter is priced at $59 and available for purchase from May 5 via the Arlo website and electronics retailers.
