Leading cyber safety company Norton has released a new range of AI-powered features and integrated them into the company’s cyber safety products to offer greater protection against the widest range of cyber threats we’ve ever seen.
Scams can trigger a series of attacks and losses including identity theft and financial fraud.
Norton says 90 per cent of all cyber threats come from scams and social engineering threats. This figure has tripled since 2021.
Norton’s cyber safety’s product lineup now includes Genie Scam Protection which can analyse words and links to uncover hidden scam patterns that most people would normally miss.
Norton’s most comprehensive plan Norton 360 with LifeLock Ultimate Plus now offers scam support and reimbursement coverage to offer customers even greater peace of mind.
Norton took the lead with AI-powered scam detection in 2023 when it released Norton Genie and demonstrated real-time analysis of suspicious messages and images.
Since its launch, millions have engaged with Norton Genie to seek help and advice about potential scams while at the same time allowing Genie to learn and become even more effective at protecting people.
And with Genie Scam Protection now included in Norton plans it will help people be safer than ever wherever their connected world may lead them.
“Today’s scams are not the scams you could spot a mile away with the naked eye,” said Leena Elias, Chief Product Officer at Gen, Norton’s parent company.
“Scammers are tapping into AI to speed up their schemes and make them more believable.
“Couple that with the sheer volume of emails, texts, and calls we’re getting every day; it’s clear we need technology on our side to help us avoid becoming the next scam victim.
“We’ve built enhanced AI-powered scam protection directly into our Norton products to provide the powerful, always-on scam defence our customers need to protect their digital and financial safety.
“Our top tier plan helps protect you with proactive scam protection plus scam support and reimbursement to help make you whole again if you fall victim to a scam.”
Australian customers will enjoy Genie Scam Protection at no extra cost as part of the Norton cyber safety products on desktop and mobile including Norton Antivirus Plus, Norton Mobile Security and Norton 360 plans.
