ASUS unveils new two-screen ZenBook Duo laptops with tilting ScreenPad Plus
ASUS has unveiled two new two-screen laptops in the premium ZenBook series – the 15.6-inch ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED (UX582) and the 14-inch ZenBook Duo (UX482) – which both received 2021 CES Innovation Awards.
The new two-screen laptops introduce an all-new feature – the tilting ASUS ScreenPad Plus which runs the full width of the laptop and is a secondary touchscreen which now has an auto-tilt mechanism to make it easier to read.
This secondary screen works nicely with the main screen and provides a place for other tools and apps that won’t impede on the main screen real estate.
Tech Guide was given an early look at the ZenBook Duo 14.
Under the hood, the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED has up to a 10th Generation Intel Core i9 processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop GPU.
ZenBook Duo 14 has most of the features of the 15-inch model but with a 12.6-inch ScreenPad Plus and a smaller chassis to make it even more portable.
The ZenBook Duo us just 16.9mm thick and is Intel Evo-certified laptop powered by the 11th Generation Intel Core with the new Intel Iris X graphics and up to an impressive 17 hours of battery life.
The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED can run up to 32GB RAM to power through heavy workloads on the main OLED display and 14-inch 4K UHD ScreenPad Plus which now has an improved brightness of 400 nits.
The ZenBook Duo 14 has up to 1TB ultrafast storage and an AAS Plus thermal system to optimise cooling performance.
It also has four Thunderbolt USB-C ports that support both power delivery and DisplayPort and the 40Gbps bandwidth so users can connect an external 8K display or two 4K UHD displays.
Both ZenBook Duo laptops also have the tiltable ScreenPad Plus which can tilt upwards as much as 9.5 degrees.
Pricing and availability of the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED and the ZenBook Duo 14 will be announced in the coming weeks.
