Panasonic has re-invented the microwave into an all-in-one appliance that now incorporates air-fry functionality and the features of a convection oven.
The innovative Panasonic NN-CD88 combines four popular cooking methods into one – it’s a microwave, an oven, a griller and an air fryer – and can produce amazing results.
It’s designed to save space while improving the cooking experience for the whole family.
The NN-CD88 includes a new stainless steel, dishwasher safe Air Fry Basket accessory that can cook up to 900g of fries and achieve perfect browning and crispness and all without having to pre-heat.
It can perform like a conventional air fryer thanks to its unique top-fan structure.
The air fryer functional allows users to indulge in take away favourites like fish and chips and fried chicken but in a healthier oil-free way.
The microwave has steam technology built in that can keep the food moist and tender while it’s being cooked and still crispy on the outside.
It’s also possible to combine convection or grilling alongside microwave technology so you can bake, grill and heat to save time.
It’s possible to create flaky sausage rolls with a hot filling in just 15 minutes or perfectly roast a chicken in about 40 minutes.
And all without sacrificing flavour and quality.
Australian cook and Panasonic ambassador Marion Grasby put the new microwave to the test and said: “I created some delicious Pork Belly Bites in the CD88.
“This dish always goes down well with guests when you’re entertaining. It’s very simple to prepare in the microwave, and air fry mode makes the pork belly lovely and crispy in no time at all!”

The convection feature allows cooks to bake and roast at up to 220-degrees while the griller is great for toasting, browning and crisping.
Under the hood is Panasonic’s inverter microwave technology to do the regular microwave functions like defrosting, reheating and cooking.
Despite its small footprint the Panasonic NN-CD88 has a 36cm turntable which gives cooks plenty of room to move to prepare large meals.
The Genius Sensor Cook can measure the moisture in the food you’re cooking and adjust the cook time to provide optimum results.
The Panasonic NN-CD88 four-in-one air fry convection microwave oven is available now and is priced at $919.
