Dyson has unveiled the world’s slimmest vacuum cleaner which is just 38mm wide. It’s called the Dyson PencilVac and, despite its slim dimensions, it’s still packed with technology.
The Dyson PencilVac has four fluffy cones in the cleaner head along with two brush bars rotating in opposite directions which makes the cleaner head float across the floor.
The cleaning heads are shaped to offer thorough cleaning right to the skirting board.
The brush bars have nylon bristles which can gather up hair while still lifting fine dust and debris from hard surfaces.
It also has laser illumination front and back to easily spot the dust on the floors and to make sure that all dust has been removed.
Weighing just 1.8kg and just 38mm in diameter, the Dyson PencilVac is easily Dyson’s most manoeuvrable vacuum which can be used to clean forward, backwards or sideways with little effort.
The Dyson PencilVac can get into the narrowest spaces in your home and can also be laid flat to a height of just 95mm to get under furniture.
Under the hood is Dyson’s smallest yet still powerful motor at just 28mm in diameter. It’s about the size of a 20 cent coin.
It was purpose built to fit into the 38mm handle while still offering the high speed required for powerful suction.
It spins add up to 140,000 RPM and generates 55AW of suction power.
But where does all the dust go?
Dyson had to come up with a new 22mm filtration system that can separate dust and debris without clogging the filters or compromising cleaning performance.
The Dyson PencilVac has a two-stage linear dust separation system and compresses the dust to maximise bin capacity and reduce the number of times you have to empty the bin.
This is also the first cordless vacuum that connects to the MyDyson app which provides additional access to settings and real time maintenance alerts so you know when and how to clean the filter.
The Dyson PencilVac has a small LCD screen which can display the power mode and remaining runtime.
The Dyson PencilVac will be available soon in Australia. No release date has been set and pricing is yet to be announced.
