Modern technology gives us many things.

Samsung raises the bar in TV picture quality with new Neo QLED technology

Samsung will be taking its TV picture quality to the next level in 2022 thanks to advances in its Neo QLED technology announced on the eve of the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The 2022 Samsung Neo QLED 4K and 8K TVs will include Shape Adaptive lighting technology which can analyse the lines and shapes of onscreen objects and control the shape of the light produced by the microscopic LED backlights.

The result is even more accurate brightness and clarity of objects and even higher contrast HDR.

The TVs Neo Quantum Processor does the heavy lifting to achieve the higher picture quality and also comes in to play with advanced contrast mapping with the back light unit to achieve both increased brightness and greater control of the light source.

Also onboard Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED TVs is Real Depth Enhancer which uses a multi-intelligence picture quality algorithm to create more immersion and realism.

A greater sense of depth is created by separating objects in the foreground from the background.

Samsung has also taken the viewer’s eye health into account with the new Eye Comfort Mode which can automatically adjust the screen’s brightness and colour temperature through a built-in sensor and sunrise/sunset information.

The TV can then adjust the brightness and tone of the screen according to the time of day and even reduce the amount of blue light in evenings, so it doesn’t affect your sleep patterns.

“Screens are continually evolving and offering consumers new ways to use them in their everyday lives. Our TVs are getting smarter, and their uses are becoming more versatile as we shift into the next normal.

“Bigger screens, optimal sound quality and state-of-the-art picture quality remain of the highest priority for consumers as they look for premium at-home experiences,” says Jeremy Senior, Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Last year we introduced Neo QLED – a TV technology that offered Australians high quality brightness and colour to expand their viewing experience.

“This year our 2022 Neo QLED TVs gets even better; Quantum Matrix technology, which controls the brightness level of each LED, now uses AI to control the shape of the light in real time enhancing the accuracy of all shapes on the screen.”
